How To: Register a User Account

Registering an account provides the user with a lot of benefits. The user can keep track of his/her stories, build a profile and promote on other social networks. Regsitered users are also not subject to moderator approval when they submit their stories. This means that stories submitted by registered users appear on the site immediately.

• On the main page (http://www.slapastory.com) click on "sign up" (upper right hand corner).
• Enter your email address, preferred user name and password (twice). The system will tell you if your username and/or email are taken. Please make sure to supply an existing email address as an activation code will be sent to it.
• Check out our Terms and Conditions and if you agree with them click on "sign up".
• Check your inbox for an email from Slap A Story. Click on the activation link in the email to activate your account.
• You can logon to your account and submit stories under your profile.

How To: Add a Story

Note: although you can submit stories anonymously we encourage you to register a user account. If you register you'll be able to keep track of your submissions and build a profile.

• Optional: register and/or login to your account.
• On the right hand side click on "add a story". A new page will open.

• Enter the title of your story.

• Select which genres your story belongs to. N.B. You can select multiple genres.
• Type your submission in the text box named "story". Your submission can be - at most - 15,000 characters and at minimum of 100.

• If you are registerd and logged in, you now have an option to save your draft and continue working on it later or submit it as is. If you wish to save your draft without submission click on "save". Alternatively, you can click on "submit" to publish your work immediately (if you do this you will be able to find your story in the "upcoming" section).

• If you are not logged in and wish to remain anonymous, you can submit your work by clicking on the "submit" button. Your story will be checked by our editors and will appear in the "upcoming" section in due course.

General FAQs

I haven't received my registration email. What do I do?

• Give the registration email at least 15 min to reach your inbox.
• Check your spam folder in case it was automatically redirected there.
• Try to sign up again (you might have entered your email incorrectly the first time).
• If all else fails, email support-at-slapastory.com and we will activate your account.

I forgot my password. Help!

• At the bottom of the page click on "Password Reset". Enter your email and username. A new password will be sent to your email account.
