A Red Rose
Mamma, I have something for you; said little girl, named cherrie. She brought the red rose over to her mother, with a glee look in her eye. As she handed the rose to her mother, she accidently touched one of the thorns on the rose stem. "Ooouch!!!", came the cry. Her mother reached for her sobbing child, grabbing her in one arm and reaching for a cloth that was freshly dipped in warm water, that was meant to be used on the dirty dishes. Shhhh..... The mother calmed her child as she washed the fresh blood from the child's pricked finger. "Mommy, why does it hurt, the daughter asked as she looked into her mothers eyes, with her tear stained blue eyes.
The mother answered; "Because, the thorns are sharp." The mother sat on her rocking chair, then putting her child in her arms, and holding her close. Then she told her a little story.
Cherrie, there is someone else that has suffered like you have, He shed blood as you just did. It wasn't just a thorn of a rose it was a crown of many thorns.
"How many mother, Cherrie asked?"
"Alot more than that rose has on its stem, the mother replied."
The mother went on, He shed much blood, much more than I have in my life time. He gave His blood, redder than this rose, so we can live forever.
Mother, How can we live forever?
By Jesus only can we live eternally, He will never forget us. Cherrie, He wants us to love Him like He loves us. He wants us to accept that gift He is offering us of eternal life.
"Mother, how do I get that gift, I want to live forever?" The seven year old child asked her mother.
Simple my little cherrie, you accept it, by admitting you do things wrong. "You do know you do things wrong, don't you my child?"
Yes, mommy. Like when you correct me for doing things bad.
Right, after you ask Him to forgive you of all your things you did that were bad, you ask Him to take you to heaven. Then if you believe in your heart what you said, and believe in Jesus, you will get that gift.
"Mommy, can I do it right now?"
"Yes, my child."
When the mother led the prayer, the child followed.
"Dear Jesus, I know Ive done wrong. I want you to forgive me of where Ive done wrong, and take me to heaven when I die, thank you Dear Jesus. And in Jesus name, Amen."
Once they finished the child kissed the mother on the cheek, and said thank you mommy, my finger isn't bleeding anymore.
