Beginning of a story...
I wrote this just before I went to sleep a couple of nights ago.... it's not finished but I felt like sharing.
She place her frozen hand on the rough bark of the tree and scanned the field for any movement. It was dark, it was winter and it was cold. She was paranoid, she knew it. "snap out of it Tessa", She whispered under her breath.
A twig snapped and she spun around. "Hello", She asked hoping for no answer. There was no reply except for the faint hum of the city beyond the trees. Tessa wrapped her arms around herself, it was 1am and she was still wearing the dress from earlier in the evening from her mothers 50th birthday party. The heels in her hand knocked against her side of her body, giving her a small fright. Like her, her dress was beautiful. The blue fabric made her eery eyes stand out even more so against her pale delicate skin, now with a pinch of pink from walking through the forest.
She sighed, would her mother be wondering where she was? or would she be so consumed with her need to be young that she was too busy wearing a too tight and too short dress with towering heels to even notice she was gone?
The later probably, Tessa turned and faced the field, on the otherside there was more trees that lead her deaper into the forest. She breathed in and walked into the open patch of land... she felt insecure, helpless and afraid. She increased her speed, more and more until she was sprinting. Pass the edge of the field into the dense bush. She ran, barely dodging the roots in time, her feet seemingly not touching the ground. She felt like she was flying... like she was free.
The trees parted and before she had time to stop the icy water of the lake swirled around her calves, unblancing her and tripping her up as if it was a bully kicking the back of her knee. The water was freezing, she didn't notice, it felt cool against her heated skin.
That's what I've done so far, I might do some more tonight and add to it tomorrow, comment, email me, do what you want!
