Goliath and David (Darims' shame)

Here stands Goliath mightiest of heroes,

Lord knight commander, strikes fear in all foes.

Standing tall, armoured in bronze and gold,

Wielding his sword deaths' justice ‘tis told.

Before him strides 'Darim' shield man, guard,

Taking blows of anger given so hard.

Meant for his lord all attacks he did catch,

Never failing to receive and offering full match.

Noble Goliath approached his massed foe,

Saving the lives of his army below.

Champion of all himself offered instead,

Knowing that at most only one would be dead.

Striding forward with only 'Darim' to aid,

He calls out to the enemy before him portrayed.

Asking for one like himself to make strife,

But only a small boy offers his life.

Looking at this boy stride bravely out,

A cutting tirade Goliath did shout.

"Am I a dog that you carry only a sling,

How can I fight you, killing children isn't my thing."

In answer the boy, David by name,

Called out a repost, his voice game.

"Who is this before me needing armour and all,

I carry only a sling with stones round as a ball."

Goliath smiled at David's Quick jest,

Liking this boy child 'spite them battle dressed'.

'Darim', shield man, lowers his guarding wall,

Goliath walks around him, did death call?

David raises his sling loaded with death,

Calling on his God to steal Goliath's last breath.

Goliath stops stunned, he couldn't harm the boy,

Given this choice his life cast aside like a toy.

'Darim', shield man, faithful to the last,

Running forward hoping to stop deaths cast.

Moving so fast, his speed powered by fear,

Screaming for his lord Goliath to stand clear.

But Goliath knew he could avoid the blow,

Also he knew what no one else could know.

This boy child, David, was on a holy quest,

So Goliath's life was given at his own behest.

David's arm powered by faith and fear,

Stone shot forth, Goliath a statue as it came near.

Thunderously it crashed into his fine brow,

Toppling him backwards like a pole axed cow.

'Darim', shield man, stopped in his tracks,

Shocked and distraught by David's attack.

Meanwhile David, Goliath's sword did take,

And struck hard off Goliath's head at the nape.

So all you preachers, who sing David's praise,

Remember mighty Goliath when voices you raise.

For he understood your Gods great wish,

And he offered his soul up for deaths kiss.

I like it when poetry gets biblical its very real to me i grew up on those stories..

I didn't think that there was anybody else that wrote about biblical stuff on here, I also write little poems about Gods creation and stuff like that. Though my username is JIrvin5 I also have a username Jirv5 so you could read my poems also. I like this poem, I also was raised on biblical storys
