In a Time before Time
In a time before time, existed a race of beings known as the Titans. They existed as a single being, yet also as many beings, like a drop of water in an infinite sea. Their existence is beyond the boundaries of all perception and reason, not of matter, nor of energy. Dreamers of all that was and all that will be, creators of all that is. Their dreams so fleeting yet so vast they could encompass the cosmos in a single thought.
After countless ages of existence, after all was thought and experienced, Infinite universes created and destroyed, the Titans grew weary. For what does one does when one has done all, seen all, and been all. In their final act the Titans sought to destroy themselves. But it was no simple task. How do you cease existing when you are the essence of existence itself? Their solution, as water boils away into vapor so too shall the Titans, spreading into an ever growing cloud of emptiness.
But this was not the end, as their cloud expanded droplets of existence precipitated out. In each drop their essence remained but there was no consciousness, no thought, and no dreams in this new form. Smaller drops combined into larger drops, and larger drops combined into even larger drops still. These drops gave rise to the planets, stars, and galaxies that exist today.
Eventually new beings came and went, inheriting the place the titans once called home. But they were not like the titans, existing on the planets and in the clouds of dust and gas, many different forms, all sharing the same existence. All existing in the universe and of the universe, these were mortal creatures able to marvel at the wonders and complexities around them. Wondering what may have come before and what may lie ahead.
It is believed that one day the mighty Titans will rise again. At the end of our age when all is one and one is all, when the space between the stars and planets is no more, the Titans will be reborn. Not the same as they once were, but different, changed by their rebirth. New thoughts, new and new dreams will arise. But infinity lingers on, the thoughts and dreams fade away. When all has been, seen and done again, the cycle continues.
It is not known when or if it will all end. Some say it will, others think it goes on forever, or maybe it doesn't exist at all. Are we someone else's dream or is our existence our own. If time is infinite and we exist in the blink of an eye is that really existence. Will we be doomed to repeat our past mistakes or will we have the chance to make new choices, for better or for worse. Will we be remembered when we are gone. Will being remembered make us live again.
