Somehow, Somewhere
The blade, glinting in the first light of the moon, bit into the soft flesh of yet another man.
It danced its deadly trance, left to right, killing men by the numbers. The magnificent blade's hilt shone with joy as the deadly sword cut through the huddled mass of helpless soldiers.
Quite ironic, really, to think I was like that just a few months ago. But things change, and this is a change I enjoy very much.
I ignore the eupheoric feeling of blood splashing across my face - my blade, sleek and curved as a Eastern Katana, flashed with joy as it fed on yet another man. I allow myself a grin, feeling bloodlust take me as I charge into the masses of men beyond me. Soon, I loose myself in the feeling, the incredible feeling of my sword meeting flesh... I cannot resist the pull of this... this escasty.
Soon, I feel myself fading, lunging into the depths of bloodlust - the last thing I saw was a splash of blood, before red was everywhere...
1738, July - Somewhere in Japan
What was death, really?
Was it some menacing Shinigami, or merely a concept? Maybe you just dissappear, or reincarnate as another?
Maybe a portal to another world, or a painful hell?
All these ridiculous thoughts enter me as the blade, moving a fast as a bird, comes toward, primed at my heart and ready to slay me. I began to think about everyone who would miss me-
-But then again, who would miss me? I was just a commoner, milita, concripted from my small village in the middle of nowhere. I had little to no friends, and I don't own anything of importance...
Maybe I should just die?
All of my thoughts blinked out as pain scorched through my chest, and I felt myself fading, vision blurring...
1793, August - Manchester, England
I can't die like this!
I refuse to die mobbed by some nameless muggers with a pistol! Surely I am better than that!
I distinctly feel myself fading as the small piece of round iron enters my once-beating heart.
