[i]"Will all new students come to the great hall for their aptitude tests"[/i] said a loud voice. Melanie knew that she was one of the new students to take the test. But she wondered where the voice was coming from there was no loud speaker or intercom. Then she laughed to her self. "Yeah that's right it's magic!" she said with a smile as she put her book away and left the room.

This time Melanie knew where she was going and didn't need to follow the large group of people. And it was a good thing she didn't because they all went out to the court yard on there break. On her way she saw Todd walking towards her. Melanie tried her best to not make eye contact with him after there encounter she was kind of embarrassed. It didn't work. He came right up to her. He gave her a sweet smile as he came up to her. She returned a quirky smile. "Hey, Melanie I just wanted to wish you luck on your test." He said as his eyes sparkled from the sunlight pouring through the windows. Wow! He has some really green eyes Melanie thought. "Thanks!" Melanie gave Todd a sweet smile. He started to walk away and then turned around. "Oh, and, Melanie I just wanted to apologize for yesterday. There's something about Tiffany that just aggravates me. I am sorry if I put you in a uncomfortable position." He said to her. Melanie didn't know what to say but she managed to say "It's ok" and turned around quickly.
Little unknown to Melanie the Spellmen sisters watched, with evil eyes, her and Todd talking. "She's such a flirt!" said Tiffany. "To bad she has to live for our plan to work." Tiffany messed with her hair. Then Teresa spoke up "That's true Tiff but when all is done, you get her back!" They all gave a little chuckle and walked out to the court yard and pushed some younger students out of the way.

Melanie entered the Great Hall and sat where she sat the 1st time she was there with Josh. There was one Lady who sat on the blue throne up on the little stage. She was tall and skinny. Her skin was quite fair but beautiful. She had piercing purple eyes with Red hair. It wasn't like bright red but a more brownish version. She had thick rimmed black glasses that she either wore or put them on the top of her head. She stood up. "Welcome Students! I am Mrs. Magory and I am the principle here at Annelsia. Today you will be taking our aptitude tests to see where you should be placed. Answer every question to the best of your ability and please do not leave any questions blank. Any questions," she paused. "Ok. As soon as you get your test you may start." And with a flick of the wrists the papers passed them selves out.

Melanie received her test. At first she could focus all she thought about was what just happened with Todd. [i]It was nothing special, he was just apologizing. Maybe he likes me he, was smiling a lot. [/i]She was thinking. [i]Melanie, worry about your test first, then Todd. [/i]She then focused and got to work at her test. It was kind of easy for her. Melanie's parents had told her all about this stuff at home.
Meanwhile
Todd sat on a bench in the court yard finishing some homework he forgot to do yesterday. It might have been the 1st day of school but that didn't matter they still got homework to do. Todd felt two people on either side of him squish him. Then a person in front of him grabbed his school book. He looked up. It was none other than the infamous Tiffany Spellman. He glared "Come one Tiffany and give me my book back. I need to keep my grades up so I can be on the Dueling team." Todd said as he stood up. He had a few inches on Tiffany but that didn't intimidate her.
"No Todd only if you apologize for your behavior yesterday and take back what you said." Tiffany said with a smirk.
"No, Tiffany." He said back.
"Come one Todd you know you didn't mean those things."
"Oh, but that's where you are wrong Tiffany. I really did mean those things." He said as he grabbed his book and pushed through them. "You'll pay for this Todd Wother. Maybe not you but ...Melanie will!" She said evil in her eyes and a smirk of equal evilness. Todd stopped dead in his tracks. He turned around and walked right up to Tiffany. "No, you leave her out of this she has nothing to do with this at all. You leave her out of your wickedness." Todd said angrily. He walked away with out looking back. But before he knew he was thrown up in the air and landed down on his back and his head. Before he slipped into unconsciousness he saw Tiffany with her opal wand pointed at him.

Melanie's test was done and she passed it in to Mrs.Magory. She felt confident that she did pretty well. She exited the Great Hall and heard a commotion going on out in the court yard. Melanie walked over to the court yard arch and saw Todd up in the air and fall with a thud on to the ground. She screamed and ran over to him. She didn't see who it was but she pretty much could of guess who did it. She rushed over to Todd who lay motionless on the ground. She kneeled beside him and brushed straight blondish hair out of his eyes. "Todd...Todd..."she called to him. She saw Josh's faux hawk and called to him. Josh ran over and put his hand on Melanie's shoulder. "Is he ok?" Josh asked. "Uh, I don't think so he was like thrown 10ft into the air and then crashed on the ground. But he's breathing." Melanie said almost with tears. "Here I'll go get the nurse. She'll have him fixed in no time." Josh said as he ran off for the nurse. Melanie didn't know what was happening to her. She was gonna cry but she barely new Todd. She could see crying over Josh, but Todd? Why? She was lost in her feelings. She was over thinking every think Todd said. Take it to serious. She needed to gather her feelings and then see. It was just that all of this was so new too her she easily got confused and nervous over little things.
